Jacky Murphy

I came to the art world as a mature student after a career in science.

After starting my journey at Todmorden college I progressed to Bradford and studied Fine Art where my main discipline was ceramics.

After graduating I worked as an art outreach worker for Calderdale Museums and also ran my own workshops with adults and children.

Now in my retirement, I am enjoying experimenting with a number of art media, primarily textiles, oil painting and mixed media.

Texture and colour are key elements in my work and most of my work is inspired by nature and landscape .
