Later he studied at the Princes Drawing School, London. After many painting trips to Dartmoor and the Hebrides he now focuses almost exclusively on landscapes, enjoying the rather ragged but beautiful areas of Calderdale and the Western Isles. He has exhibited at The Royal Academy, The Lynn Painter Stainers Prize, The Dean Clough Galleries, and has work in the Royal Collection. He is the tutor on our Painting - Approaches to Landscape, Painting towards Abstraction and Painting Workshop.
Emma Wilkinson
Emma Wilkinson is a Todmorden based textile artist. She specialises in sculptural work but is well versed in the full range of textiles techniques. "I make sculptural insects made using various different techniques and fabrics which tell stories of their own. I work in an intuitive manner connecting with my materials and subject. Butterflies are often used in my work as I am drawn to their fragility and beauty. I also take great inspiration from my surrounding environment. My passion for textiles comes from its versatility and its many forms which can be manipulated, dyed, stitched and embellished.” Emma is teaching two Art of Textiles classes and a workshop where you can come and work on different projects with her expertise at hand.
